Kitchen Update #4

recessed lights against the black ceilingThis may not look like much to you, but to me it is a thing of beauty. The kitchen ceiling - long an eyesore - has been transformed. Billy worked on it all day. When I came home this evening, it was as if I was looking at a field of stars against a pitch black night.

Would it be immodest to say that I believe I'm going to have a very dramatic kitchen when all is said and done? Even if it would be, I'm saying it anyway. I'm going to have a very dramatic kitchen when all is said and done.

This week ... the new cabinetry is installed and Marian and I visit the counter folks to select the granite for the island.

A dramatic kitchen? Cool! Considering everyone hangs out in the kitchen at social events, it's a great investment. The black ceiling is a great idea -- especially if one burns salmon on the stove.......so I've heard.

Starry, starry night... Paint your palette blue and grey... Look out on a summer's day...With eyes that know the darkness in my soul.

Seems like we have a Van Gough theme going on at both the Gambrell and Barshafsky homes. The ceiling rocks!

That is one of my all time favorite songs, Teresa. I can see all of us in Deb's new kitchen, fondue pot bubbling with Velveeta, and Don McLean crooning in the background....then in comes Fanny Packing Gringo with the Sam's Club Ton O' Velveeta and a blow up pool begging us to wrestle....of course, I'll agree to it, but only if there's a cover charge and I get 50% and am assured a spot in the claw-footed tub afterward. How's that for a kitchen-warming party????

Andrew, you could do better than Velveeta? Don't be a tease. Do tell.

Marian, dahling.... When it comes to wrestling nude in a vat full of Velveeta with your friends, or actually getting nude in front of anyone other than your SO, you're so far out it is not funny. You're in? Ha! ::wink::

And, who is the "Fanny Packing Gringo"? Identify yourself please!
