The Beverage Room

One of my dirty little secrets is that I don't cook a lot....and I'm a GREAT cook!  I'm also an EXCELLENT baker (just ask Martha)!  But because I'm single, I don't cook much for myself.  I'm a snacker, a grazer.  I'm not one to pull together a full meal for myself.  Thank God my parents live close by so I don't lack for a square meal!  Eating has a social purpose for me.  Really. I'm more of a drinker.  I refer to my kitchen as the beverage room.  To give you an idea:  38 containers of various types of teas (green, herbal, iceable, flavored), 6 types of coffee, 3 types of juices, 2 types of milk, 32 bottles of wine (that's a whole different "Obsession" post), 2 types of beer, 4 types of soda (3 diet), 9 bottles of liquor, and 1 bottle of sasparilla!  Oh....and of course....water.  So when you find yourself hot and thirsty this summer, come on over!

viv - we're drinking our fair share of singha on this trip. and yesterday we had a lovely mango freeze. somehow i missed the coconut juice right out of the shell when we were at the floating market. and may i recommend vodka and passionfruit juice over ice?

Singha - Thailand's first original beer - a lager. Sounds like I need to take a trip to Green's, my ABC store. I'm wondering if Bangkok is like Beijing where they encourage you to drink beer to help with digestion? That's as good a reason as any!
