Food-themed ACEOs

Radishes by Robert KimballYou all remember my sister, Beverly Peltier, of the mayonnaise cake discussions that we had a few months ago? Well, I've got to tip my hat to my sis. She turned me on to ACEOs. The acronym stands for Art Cards, Editions, and Originals but that still doesn't tell you anything, does it? ACEOs are small, business card sized original pieces of art. For Christmas, she gave me four food-themed ACEOs by Robert Kimball, a gentleman who sells his mini art in an eBay store called rk-studio. Bananas, Still Life - Radishes, A Glass Creamer, and Salt Shaker. I'm crazy about these things. I've spent the last hour or so trolling through his shop. I've got my eye on the lemons, the orange slices, and the pears. I can see it now - a salon wall covered with miniature food paintings. I think it will be fabulous. Stay tuned.

That's a beautiful picture. I've never heard of ACEOs. Tiny cards, tiny tin of chocolate sardine, little gummis....I'm seeing a trend here.

Mr. Kimball would appreciate the plug. I think his miniature still lifes are great. Buy the oils not the prints. Bev

I didn't see this article until today. Just stumbled across it in a google search. I appreciate the nice comments and I feel privileged to have my artwork appear in this article.
I've been making mostly landscape paintings but I think I'll try some still lifes again.
Thanks again...

I am so glad that Mr.Kimball ran across your site. His ACEOs are wonderful. I have some of his solitary trees and they are beautiful miniatures delicately painted.

Looking for a really cool and different gift, just type in aceo rk on ebay and you will see his work.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I have.
