Chocolate Sardines

chocolate sardines by la royannetteEvery year, one Christmas gift rises above all others and captures my attention. Sometimes it is something I've given ... and sometimes, something I've received. It's never the most extravagent gift. It is usually some little oddity that has an inexplicable appeal. We've still got a few days til Christmas so my selection this year could change, but right now I'd be hard pressed to believe that anything could surpass my fascination with chocolate sardines. Not chocolate covered sardines ... but chocolate shaped like sardines and presented in a jazzy little tin. I love these things and have been holding them close for the past month, wondering who would be worthy of this prize? Today, they sit in front of me, wrapped and ready to be gifted to our good friends, Connie and Dick - our supper club buddies with whom we've enjoyed so many remarkable meals. I know it is better to give than receive, but I'm having a hard time saying goodbye to my little tin of chocolate fish.

So...we're all waiting with fishy breath...did Connie and Dick get the chocolates or did you hoard them for yourself?

The "Sardines" were delicious Deb. I probably got more than my share, but hey, I'm retired you know and have an undo advantage over my working wife! Thanks
