Ode to a Mayonnaise Cake

Those crazy Germans gather in March

To hoist a cake to cheer their own.

They sing aloud making joyful noise

With good intent but slightly off tone.

The smoke alarm screams out the news

While candles dance a-blaze.

Bev's another year older and wiser, perhaps

Glorified through a cake of mayonnaise!

A funny thing happens to mayonnaise cake at home... Mom ever so kindly makes me one for my birthday, and half of it mysteriously disappears before I ever taste it.

Wonder how that could've happened?
