Underwood deviled ham. On white bread.

Beanie weenies. Cold. Right out of the can.

And those dry pecan twirls. The kind you buy at gas stations.

Disgusting. Can't you guys eat something more healthy? Sliced tomato on white bread with mustard, sardines on white bread with mustard.
How about a peanut butter sandwich with fried bacon and sliced banana on it?
I'm going to report all of you to the junk food cop.

Beanie Weenies are baked beans with tiny little hot dogs in them. What planet are you from?

karol - my father and sister have described beanie weenies perfectly. i learned to love them from my dad - who, you can see, learned to eat them out of the can in the military.

you'll have to forgive my sister's somewhat insensitive inquiry about your lineage. we all recognize you as a citizen of planet earth. i'm sure bev wouldn't know what ajiaco, sancocho de gallina, and changua are.

and if she did, she certainly wouldn't eat any of it!

An entire loaf of white bread, toasted, slathered with real butter and then thickly topped with cinnamon and sugar, each slice cut into one inch strips (about five strips to a slice) and stacked in a heap on a large platter. I shared this entire platter with my best friend, Devra - in one sitting - one fall afternoon in 1974. My poor mother never figured out what happened to that entire loaf she swore she bought at Safeway. She blamed it on the bagboy.

Man oh man, Teresa-- There is NOTHING like a fresh, warm cinnamon bread.. mmmm it's breakfast time, right? See you on the other side....of the world that is!!!!!!!
Not sure of the blog etiquette of commenting on a year-old post, but since Deb pointed me here...

1) I cannot hear "beanie weenies" without thinking of the Calvin & Hobbes strip where he's trying to gross out Susie in the cafeteria. All I really remember is her line: "It's not cigar butts in gallstone sauce, it's beanie weenies!"

2) Teresa, I love making cinnamon toast like that. Especially with that super-thin sliced white bread from Pep. Farm.

3) String cheese.

4) ...Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. With or without milk. But only during the summer, preferably at the beach.
