Happiness Is Just A Cupcake Away
Cupcakes are happy little desserts, aren't they? Festive cups of sweetness that spread happiness wherever they go. A regular cake is so much more serious - even when whimsically decorated. But a cupcake ... first, you get to select the one that's just perfect for you. Then you get to peel it like a banana. I love peeling bananas. That's all about my favorite state of being ... anticipation. And then you get to open your mouth really wide and gobble the cupcake up a couple bites, trying to avoid getting crumbs and icing all over yourself. And that's usually not successful - so there you stand - in the middle of a group of other adults - and you've got blue or pink or yellow or green icing all over your lips. I took some cupcakes to work last week (thanks, Dori, for your expert preparation and decoration of a perfect dozen) to celebrate the 179th birthday of our university. The first person to eat one was my president. He walked into my office with one in his hand and a big silly grin on his face - a momentary respite from the serious business of our days.
World peace and happiness, I say. Through cupcakes.

I thought I'd take a moment to let Bev know that her fudge she gave Deb was delicious. Thanks :)
