California Crud

Brought back something unsavory from California - congested sinuses, sore throat, night sweats. Consequently, nothing too interesting is going in the belly of this beast. I don't really have an appetite (highly unusual occurrence). Although last night, those gloppy gooey chicken dishes on the Olive Garden commercial were looking pretty good. Lord, I must be sick. Give me a few days to swim to the surface of good health, and we'll get back to the good fun you've come to expect from Bitegeist. Maybe I'll whip up a recipe from one of the cookbooks Janet gave me and report my findings here. See Obsessions du Jour: A Bevy of Quirky Cookbooks.

I'm going out on a limb here....I bet you didn't eat at Taco Bell or Olive Garden while you were in the Bay Area.

Hey Viv! Neither did she eat at Taco Bell or Olive Garden while she was in Chico. But she was the recipient of simple meals hand-prepared with love from our tiny kitchen on Pillsbury Road.

Pillsbury Road? I LOVE IT!

Viv - Teresa fed us so much good food. Homemade lasagne my first night there. Mediterranean bagels the next morning - a bagel topped with cream cheese, bacon, sliced red onions, tomatoes, and avocado drizzled with a hand-mixed dressing. Jenn bought these giant chicken burritos for lunch one day (they looked like swaddled babies) from a roadside taco stand. Oh, and then there was the strata with fruit salad and mimosas on Sunday. The girls on Pillsbury Road know how to keep their guests sated!
